Going for a walk along the canal path would be nice and, of course, free!!  I'm not sure where the best bits are, but depending on the age of your children, painted boats and various bits of wildlife might be good fun.  Unless you're a country-based family and want to show them urban life!  If that's true - I'm not muchg help.

their are some botanical gardens which you can view if you do a search they have workshops in their and variouse other things.and you could get a family ticket their are also the back to back houses to visit part of the natural trust..
also ve day story and crafts is on in the central library chamberlain square..that consists of story and crafts and its free it starts at 1400 hours..
