If the answer to 28 Down is THALLIUM what has that got to do with a butler?

28 Down = Element butler's taken to heart (8). The only element that fits our other answers is thallium. The letters we have from other answers are - h - l - i - m It may of course not be a chemical element. We're stuck! Thanks for your help, wallacia

sorry dongo,only 2 words come up in my oxford dictionary spellchecker,thallium and phallism,cannot work out how it could be any of the two,sorry again.
