There is a carvery in York City Centre close to the Yorvik Vicking Centre and shops does anyone know the name of it?

For a carved meat takeaway, there's the famous York Hog Roast shop in Goodramgate. One look in their window will get you drooling! See here

Oh! I forgot about Russell's restaurant just up the lane from the Jorvik Centre and round the corner in Coppergate. They do carvery stuff. See here. Mind you, a look in the Hog Roast window is still worth a look!! ;-b
