I have a four gang switch. One switch operates an external light which works fine, one operates a single halagen ceiling light, the other a ceiling light which is also operated by a second switch, the remaining switch should operate two halogen ceiling lights. The ceiling rose seems to house all the wires for these lights. However the the two halogen lights remain constantly on and can not be isolated by the switch. They only are isolated when the mains wire is disconnected from the ceiling rose. How do I get these lights to be operated by the switch?
Im a sparky and it is easier to see the cables than to tell you how it's done but what has happened is the two halogen lights have been wired somehow to the 'loop' in the ceiling rose which means they will be permanently on unless you remove the fuse or switch off the circuit breaker...
