updating norton after expiry
5 Answers
weve just uninstalled norton internet security 2008, and installed norton internet security 2009. we were told it wouldnt work properly unless we did this. but something seems to be missing, ie norton systemworks. can i go back and install the norton systemworks part of the 2008 cd i have? and if so, how do i go about this? will it be in the recycle bin or would i have to un-install 2009, re-install 2008, then un-install everythng but norton systemworks before installing 2009 again? i hope this is not true!

If you dont use the removal tool it can leave bits of Norton all over the place on your PC.
I suggest you download the Norton removal tool (see below)
Then run it (it can take a while to do the uninstall so let it run for a while even if you think it has finished)
Then switch your machine off, then switch it on again.
THEN install Norton 2009.

How did you acquire Systemworks ?
Did you buy the systemworks product itself, or was it packaged within another product like a Norton security package?
It seems Systemworks is part of Norton 360, but not part of Norton Internet security 2009.
When you uninstalled Internet security 2008 did you also select Systemworks to uninstall as well?
See here for packaging options.
