ford focus running on low revs when on tick over

hi i have a ford focus 1.8 16v iv had cam belt changed air flow sensor changed also put new lamba sensor on its had new plugs and leads but it seems to look and feel a little lumpy when on tick over its also running on low revs on tick over can anyone help please

Hi, who done the belt change & the other work? was it a Garage? Was the car (A1) when it went in? If so, take the car back, if you have done it your self did you time it right? are the leads pushed down & connecting with the plugs? Sorry for all the ?????????? The Tick over can be adjusted on the Throtle cable.

thanks TWR for replying to my question iv had it back to garage for timing checked and is spot on leads are pushed right down to plugs iv tried altering the throttle cable by turning a little screw but every time you switch engine off it goes back to were it ran at before on dash iv done everything i possibly can but not having much luck its mind blowing when your driving it its superb but stop at junction's thats when its not funning smooth any more suggestions its really doing my head in now : (

Hi, as I have said if the car was running well without your problem then its up to the Repairing garage to put it right, What do you call LOW Revs? Have you altered your filling station ( Different Fuel) was the timing checked by a person that knew what he/she was doing?

yes the car was spot on before it had cam changed and yeh it was a proper garage i took it to. i have not alterterd my filling station thank you for your time in responding to me much appreciated

Hi Limara, Do not get put off demand the garage put this fault right & also state the car was A1 perfect before the changed the belt, If they try and FOB you off explain you intend to take this futher. Good Luck.

thank you i will go back to them and see where it gets me i know the fingers still pointing at the timing been out its just getting them to accept that without it costing me more money which im sure its gonna i think its just coz im a woman they think they can fob me off it seem's to be running on the line under the 1000 mark on rev counter which to me this is not right as it ran in middle of both lines before and that was perfect.thanx again for your help: )

Hi, these garages really get my back up, For a bloke he can stand his ground but they will try to take the Ps out of ( With respect to the opposite sex) My view on this, it's a TOOTH out on the belt, do not even think of paying more money out to theses Bsds as I know the price of replacing belts etc, If you cannot get any sense out of the garage just inform them that you will be seeking an independent opinion on the TICKOVER & if found & they can not sort it, they will be billed for the FULL cost incurred by yourself. to that, you have given them the option to put this problem right
