Should I feel guilty
4 Answers
My mum called me earlier and said that her and my dad were going to Woking Cemetary to visit my deceased relatives, mainly my grandfather. She asked if I wanted to go and I said I didn't really feel like going which she was ok with. We normally go during the Easter weekend which is the anniversary of my granddads death but she wanted to go today for some reason.
Should I feel guilty for not going? I would much rather go on the anniversary of his death which we do every year.

Your mum is happy if you are happy and was only asking you so you didn't feel left out! You can all go and visit your grandad's grave at Easter as usual. (Unless your mum and dad are away at Easter and haven't told you yet - oops!)
No, no need to feel guilty, tigger.
Your Mum will have a reason for wanting to go today which probably has nothing to do with you. It will be for herself. She will tell you later, perhaps. She maybe asked you to go along in case she felt you might be put out by finding out she went by herself.
But if she says later that she was put out by you not wanting to go, you can say she didn't actually say that. If you don't know the full story, you can't be blamed for your actions & there is no need to feel guilty.
