Birthday present
Can anyone suggest a birthday present for a six year old boy please? He and his brother are always unimpressed when I give them books, but seem to have all the latest toys, games, sporting equipment etc they could need. I can only spend around 10.

He could be taken to a sports shop for example and be able to be shown what he could buy with it. I have much the same problem with my young relatives and have resorted to putting money in their cards for them. They love having the money to decide for themselves and I always get a hug and a thank you.
Water pistols or water bombs. Something loud and annoying. Something that can be shaped or when pressed makes lavatorial noises. Tennis set, cricket set, golf set. Football, basketball. Tickets to the cinema to see... Scoubi strings. Tamogotchi. Football cards ( or whichever cards are around) A DVD. Expect whatever you get to be discarded in your presence, but played with after you've left. Don't give a six year old vouchers or money - you'll be doing that when he's a teenager and you're really stuck for ideas!
