Does anyone remember this programme?

A few years ago, there was a programme on TV about a couple from Newcastle (I think) who bought a run-down cottage way out in the wilds. They intended renovating it at week-ends but they had loads of trouble with English Heritage.
It was also miles away from anywhere and they had lots of trouble getting the building materials to the site. It was looking really grim for them but they said they would never give it up. Did they do it? Does anyone remember it?

I remember a similar episode of Build a New Life in the Country
Property expert George Clarke catches up with Terry and Marilyn, the couple dubbed Britain's hardest-working grandparents after their efforts to restore an ancient Northumbrian farmhouse were shown in the first series. Three years on, they're still at it, and George finds them attempting to transform the 16th-century bastle into a family kitchen and dining hall. It seems their determination to finish the job knows no bounds
This episode is shown again on Fiver at 9.00 am Friday 27th March
