Dippydoo, you should not get yourself into a 'competition' with other mums who'se children may develop at a faster rate in some areas - walking, poty training, and so on.
Look at your local Reception Class - they all walk, and talk, and use the toilet and sit to the table - every child gets there eventually, it's not a race.
Oh, and girls are faster at all these things than boys.
Relax - enjoy your little one.

My nephew walked at 8 months and my friends little girl was almost 2 and half. They are both at school now and you can't tell which one walked first. They are probably the extreme opposits of the spectrum, with most babies falling in the 11 - 14 month range. Girls are not necessarily faster at everything, their "plumbing" generally means that they toliet train quicker though.

I have a 2 yr old - who was running about at 10 months and an 8 month old who is just starting to climb up against the furniture. My sister's baby has only just started to walk at the age of 18 months.
There's no hard and fast rule, they all get there eventually.
Believe me, once your baby starts to walk, there'll be no rest time for you! :p
