Hi chinadoll, I really have no idea what to suggest, cream-wise, but I just wanted to tell you that when my sister was 7 she was zooming down a steep hill (on the road, not a field) on her pushbike and for some unknown reason she pulled the front brake on rather than the rear one, when she wanted to stop! Needless to say, she went straight over the handlebars and skidded down the road a few feet on one side of her face. Once it stopped bleeding, it was a massive, solid scab for weeks and weeks, but she is now 37 and it never scarred at all. Perhaps young skin is very good in that way. At the end of the day, even though it's very deep, it's still only a graze, rather than a stab or cut, so hopefully it will heal nicely. I know that not long after, a cat clawed the other side of her face and she does have a long scar from that!

Fingers-crossed there are some nurses or doctors reading your query and that they can give you some positive pointers to help the healing process.

Apart from leaving it alone having obviously done your best the only other thing I can suggest is an eye (yes, I did say eye!) ointment called Chloramphenicol.

When the facial and plastic surgeons in my hospital carry out delicate facial surgery they put this cream on the scars/wounds as it appears to give the best results scarring wise.

Sorry, forgot to mention that although we use it in hospital you should be able to pick it up at your local chemist, but ask their advice first.
Any moitsurising sun cream or E45 cream will protect it from the sun
By the way, one of the best things to put on an injury to minimise scarring, is to get the oil out of a vitamin E capsule and rub it in, during healing.  It really works.
To stop any scarring pure lavender oil is excellent , I used this on my daughters badley burnt leg and she,s no scare at all.
A similar thing happened to me as in the first post. When I was 18, I fell off my bike and slid down the road and took all the skin off the left side of my face. It looked drastic for a couple of weeks, but has left no scarring at all. I can't remember what I used on it, except that it was cleaned up at the hospital with some yellow antiseptic stuff, and after that I think it was just Savlon... The worst thing was not being able to smile or laugh coz it was too painful :-o
