my sons were christened in 2006 and 2007 and they had the same god parents. two god mothers and two god fathers.

Many years ago a girl would have 2 godmothers and 1 godfather and a boy would have 1 godmother and 2 godfathers but these days you can chose whoever you want to be godparents but sometimes it's best to check with the vicar/priest etc.
My daughter wanted 2 of her gay friends to be godparents when her daughter was born and the vicar was ok with this.As long as the people chosen are responsible adults there is no norm.
