Why are some posters so horrible? I have posted what I thought to be a legitimate point in the news section, and someone has suggested I am a tax whinger!
I don't understand why they need to be so cutting, I am all for debate, do you think it's because they don't know the person, so they couldn't give a s***about being nasty to them?

Posters in News are generally forthwright and don't bother with the niceties as we're there to debate and discuss and you were actually asked whether the post was a dressed up 'tax whinge' as opposed to being called any names.

Given how you ask if it's right for the tax-payer to foot the bill in that post and you also have a post going regarding the alleged 12 year old father and a comment about someone picking up the tab then I think the poster may have had a point. You weren't called any names though.
Joy... stop ya winging ;-)

No China I wasn't called names I agree, but I think there are different ways of getting something across, like you said in one of my posts about Corrie"No one forces you to watch it" that to me was constructive and I had a playful jibe at you in your post about Fern, but thats what it was a playful jibe

tell ya summit snags, if I wus ta whinge, you'de know about it...lol
fingers in ears... 'not listening... not listening' ;-p
I'm sorry but i think anyone who is happy paying tax is daft, to whinge about paying it is normal.
Question Author
your'e right Dot, pointless whinging about paying it, you have to end of, which slightly deviates from my news post, but if I did have a whinge about it, I would have headed the post Tax Whinge...........he-he
seems a tad daft now doesn't it, me discussing my post in another post.
Let the *uggars have a go, who cares lol
I think you might have me confused with chinadog. I wouldn't know anything about Corrie or Fern.

It's subjective Joy, personally I find your contributions to News today more of a rant and they read to me of a bit of hand wringing. That's not me being nasty or making a personal attack on you, that's just how I've read your posts and I'm not interested in entering a debate on what you're discussing so I don't bother to post. But I can see that other people would think the same thing as me and be inclined to post just that.

I'm also very often sarcastic but those that know my humour know that I mean it in a good natured way (generally) and (hopefully) laugh with me and take it as I intended. However I'm aware that I could potentially annoy others. I don't exactly care about that either but I don't go out of my way to be nasty either. I think the point I'm trying to make is take things with a pinch of salt in News as they're a rather hardend bunch at times. Frankly, when you really are insulted on there, you'll know about it!

sorry about the mix-up china, point taken, admire your honesty!

Give us a smile.....come on........wider........that's better !!

I've just read the post you referred to, and yes, maybe someone could look on it as a bit of a "rant". Personally, it didn't bother me - we're all entitled to our opinions - it'd be an odd world if we all agreed, wouldn't it ?

I mean, I replied to a post yesterday I didn't agree with and afterwards I thought, "I think I was a wee bit harsh, there". But the damage was done. Put it down to experience, I thought. Move on.

C'mon.. get whistling.. Life Of Brian's "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life"........Feeling better ? Good !!
