If I'm making a sweet pie I use the short crust pasrty (the one with the puff pastry man, I forget the brand) from the refrigerated section of the supermarkets.
I use rough puff from the supermarket but consider my own short crust to be better than any you can buy......

well I just throw together the ingredients I was shown about 50 years ago connemmara but if you need a step by step this is as good as anything - i always make sure I have cool hands - this wa something I was told as a child but don't know if it really makes any difference....
