Have just been to my doctor with a whistling in my ears he was very dismissive and says it will pass have had this now on and off for three weeks has anybody any experience of this its driving me mad ?
I've had Tinnitus since taking the anti depressant Seroxat. Its the worst SSRI ever. I get the sound of a clock ticking, its a flippin nuisance. My hubby gets whistling and sounds like radio signals, there;s no cure for it milliezoe.
I suffer from it, mine ranges from the sea shore to a jet engine. It's something I am told that we have to live with. But every so often my practice nurse calls me in for my ears syringing and that does help for a short time,I find the more you [ listen ] the worse it is, just try and do things to take your mind off it,it's awful I know but it's untreatable I'm afraid.
I have it most of the time, mine's more like a crunching or rice krispies snap cracking and popping in my ears and sometimes a high pitched noise like a tuning fork though that's usually accompanied by a wierd frequency switch thing I get between my ears.
Mine's connected to menieres disease and am on medication which helps it and I've learned to adapt to get (well, get used to it) over time.
Using a personal stereo helps as it seems to fool your ears somehow and have heard others with menieres find the same.
Obviously it's not great for all the time but could get some relief at others and you could have relaxing music on or even listen to TV through in ear headphones.
Mine (when I get it) is like a bee buzzing in and out of my ear. It actually becomes physically painful at times and it would drive me to s de - I mean that!!!!
