CRB check Expiry Date
On my enhanced CRB that I had done when registering as a childminder in 2004, had an expiry date of 3 years fropm the date of the check. Now however, I am being told by my employer (nursery work) that my check that they used for their purposes no longer has an expiry and is thereofre still relevant for them. I fail to see how that can be.
Does anyone have a link for informaiton that I can read about this please?
Many thanks

The whole concept of them being good for three years is a farce anyway - they are valid on the day they do the checking and no more! You could easily go out and commit a crime the sam night your crb comes through

the 3 years comes from the expiry date on my CRB check itself
I see what you are saying, and agree, but my employer has taken my CRB check I had done as a minder for themselves without getting one done for me seperately. Some of us there haven't had one done for over 5 years
Thanks for your reply bednobs - it was definitely helpful
