Hi - we have booked a holiday in summer to Kenya (2 adults and 16,13 years old)- this is in a place called "voyager" resort and with a 3 day safari. As newcomers to this kinfd of thing I am looking for tips for the Safari bit, and from anyone who has stayed at this hotel (we are doing all inclusive)
Also it appears we are flying with a chartered airline - Monarch but more likely Excel from gatwick - have read terrible reviews on these (and for a price, we can upgrade to a scheduled airline) - has anyone flown on this route
Any comments/views/help alll gratefully received !!

I would love to go into Mombasa as you have suggessted - have read this as one thing to do on ovther sites as well.
Good tip about the bags !! -will certainly do that.. - are we limited to size of luggage we can take - we plan to pack 2 seperate cases and holdalls as we start the safari from when we more or less arrive at resort - we have 2 holdhalls we plan to use - do we need to be" weather aware" !!
will probably contact you in the future for more advice.
Thanks Tina x
Hello! We went to Kenya last year in March and has THE most wonderful holiday, we stayed on the South Beach (Diani) at the Indian Ocean Beach Club. We did a safari for two days at Tsvo East which was fab, the red dust tracks are awsome at sunrise and sunset ..... as a previous writer said Africa does get under your skin and is a fabulous place to visit. Mombassa is fine and I felt safe there, as for the flight we flew with African safari airways! not bad considering we'd never heard of them! p.s. The first glimse of the Indian Ocean is just ....... sigh ...... to die for .... enjoy! ... oh and the diving at Wassini Island is WOW!
many thanks to all regarding this !! - very helpful
"In a Pickle " -what currency do we need to take - have read several different views - kenyan shiilings/american dollars ?? - what amount of tips is acceptable tp waiters etc..I don't want to offend anyone.
Also heard that you could take pens/books etc for local children and schools ??
Thanks
Tina
