Freesat is a Free to View TV Service provided by the BBC & ITV and is Satellite Delivered from one of the Astra Satellites (I think it comes from Astra 2D)SKY also broadcast from the same satellites, but if you have already got a SKY HD Box I don't see much point in having Freesat or even Freeview as well, apart from the fact that these are Free whereas Sky charge for their services.
It is a choice between a Free Service from Freesat or a Subscription Service fromSKY

Freesat is excellent. Loads of HD and it's free. I closed my Sky account and am well satisfied with Freesat. If you already have Sky then there's no point in going for Freesat. Redman is right though, Panasonic have a telly with Freesat built in and it has had outstanding reviews. I just use the old Sky dish with a Freesat box bought from Currys.
Freesat has the BBC and ITV HD broadcasts which SKY do not have. It also has a lot of the Freeview channels.

When you buy your telly, make sure it is FULL HD (1080) and not just HD ready.
