2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 cup vegetable or olive oil
You could substitute a very small splash of vinegar for the lemon juice, by the way.
1. Combine the egg yolks, mustard, cayenne and lemon juice in a food processor. Start to process, and as the machine runs, add the oil in a thin stream through the top spout. The mayonnaise will come together and thicken all of a sudden.
2. If the mixture is too thick, add a little warm water to thin it. Add salt and pepper to taste. The mayonnaise will keep for about 1 week in the refrigerator.
Et voila... Supper!

Clanad, This poor person was asking for supper suggestions at 20 to 7. It is now after 11pm. They have either had soup or gone to bed I think by now. It is so kind of you to send your suggestions, and as I know your recipes are good I will take note. (Am now writing a book on flight planning which has been accepted by a Canadian publisher!!!! )
You're right, grasscarp (sometime you'll have to divulge the source of your pen name!), but given the time difference (6 hours) I elected to go ahead and psh "Submit" since perhaps Theland1 could use in the future.... or is suffering from a bout of insomnia... Good luck on your publication, by the way...
I'll put money on Theland having the soup!
Clanad we have fish in a pond in the garden which we inherited from previous owners of this house. One day I had it cleaned and the man doing it produced this huge dark fish I had never seen before and said it was a grasscarp. when registering on the internet any name I tried was already taken, so I settled for grasscarp and it is usually available! Will let you know when I get round to completing the book. Have done 3 chapters so far. Thanks for your good wishes.
