My 19month old
7 Answers
has always had a rountine and has happily stuck to it. I've just started working part time and he and my 1st child are looked after by a friend with her 2. I look after her 2 when she's working.
The children have always spent a lot of time together and are used to sleeping in each others houses.
This last week my 19th month has taken to sleeping for a long time in the morning (he's been asleep now for about 2 hours) which he has never done before as he's always slept after lunch for 1.30/2 hours. He'll still sleep after lunch too but probably a bit later.
He seems fine otherwise no temperature eating well not bad tempered and isn't teething. Hubby reckons it is because he knows I will be home round about the time he usually goes to sleep.I think he's too young and it's only been 2 weeks.
Do you think it's related or he'll adjust? My eldest never slept this long.
Thanks

If my started sleeping for longer during the day it often proceeded an illness.
my little one was sleeping up to 4 hours in afternoons 2 weeks ago (shes almost 1 and usually naps for 2 hours) and this week has chicken pox. Last time it happened she came down with a stomach bug

He still goes down at 7pm and is usually asleep by 7.15 no change apart from 1 night but his uncle was here and he tends to get them both very hyper having no children of his own he over excites them.
Maybe he is sickening (not sure if that is the right word) for something will have to keep an eye on him.
Thanks

Hi Cathy
Maybe he's just being tired out more spending time running around with the other 2? I think you are doing the right thing just checking his temp etc and keeping an eye on him, but it probably is just a phase. And lucky you! Baby Picky (age 2) has been awake since 4.50am and still hasn't slept a wink for the rest of the day. Think he had a nightmare as he's such a good sleeper normally, but he is like a machine today! Not great when I'm 26 weeks pregnant and valuing every second of my sleep!
I'm sure everything will be fine
