Conventional wisdom has it that you can plant at any time between November and March, although from December to February the ground is often cold and hard with frost or like recent years, saturated. November is probably the best month of all as nurseries have new and wide stocks available, the ground still has some warmth left and it gives the trees time to get established for spring.
