My wife's mileage allowance at her work has been static for years at 35p per mile.   Is this classed as reasonable?

Yes, I think it's reasonable, our mileage rate at work is 30ppm
Luxury - I only get 20p - and my old employer paid between 9-14p depending on fuel and engine size

It sounds reasonable.  We used to have two rates:

25p per mile if public transport is available.

40p per mile if public transport not available.

for tax purposes you are allowed 40p per mile up to 10,000 business miles and then 25p per mile thereafter
If you mean, "is it reasonable that it has not changed for such a length of time?" then the answer is yes. For all we moan about petrol prices, they have been fairly static overall and cars are more efficient and reliable than ever before. As Alisonjoy says, what is more important is that you know how to claim the difference back from the taxman, as the amount your company pays you is only part of what you get out of such claims.
