I recently filled up the oil in my ford fiesta and noticed there was a yellow slightly foamy liquid all around the oil cap and inside, is this normal?

Does it look like mayonnaise ?

If so, you may be getting water in the oil. Possibly a head gasket problem but there are other causes.

Hi

This has been discussed a few times including the recent Question below:

This mayonnaise effect mostly occurs on a car that is used on short local trips, where the engine doesn't reach it's optimum operating temperature. Not much you can do except take it for a lengthy blast up a motorway every now and then.
