I asked my mother, "What will I be? Will I be pretty? Will I be rich?" He'res what she said to me:

"When you grow up, get a good job, save all your money and buy a place of your own. Invest your money in bricks and mortar. And if a man ever asks you to marry him - RUN AS FAST AS YOUR LEGS CAN CARRY YOU!!!"

What good, bad or dubious advice did your parent(s) or guardian(s) try to drum into you? :-)

Kissing is, apparently, the root of all evil. The architect of all misery. The author of all misfortune. I was told by another cber the other day that my suspected recurring bout of glandular fever was probably down to the same thing.

Twas just your joke earlier. Reminded me of a lot of films about Irish Catholic girls who were sent away if they got in the family way. Nothing disrespecful. It just evoked memories of those films.
"Eat it up, there are plenty of starving children in Africa who would love it". Once I replied "Well send it to them then", for which I got a whack.

If you can't be good be careful.

Always wear clean underwear in case you have an accident and have to go to hospital.

Great advice just in:

When on a submarine, count the number of times you dived, add the number of times you surfaced, divide by two, and if you have one left over - don't open the hatch !!!
