rinse it in the bath and then dry it out on a radiator
Take the battery out before doing anything if you can get just the keyboard out try "laundering" it first and make sure it is thoroughly dried out before replacing battery.
Ignoring the moral issue of trying to rip them off, it's pretty certain that they'll know the cause. If you tell them the truth you might get better service.
agree with rojash

it sounds like time has passed so this probably won't work
coffee is a killer ... esp if with sugar

first - remove all batteries
then wrap in kitchen paper and shake to get rid of as much as poss (hang on for grim deathe ... cecause coffe is bad enough .... throwing it through a window as well is even worse.

(the alternative is to film yourself throwing it through a window and hopw harry hill gives you 250 which will cover the cost of repair)

rap thorougly in new kitchen paper
and (seriously!) get a big enough box and fill with about 2 cm of salt

place lappy on salt ... top ul so lappy is covered by about 2cm (it MUST be wrapped tightly - the salt will kill it for certain if it gets in)

place in airing cupboard or somewhere else that stays warm (but not hot)

leave for at least two days .... no cheating ... leave it

the salt acts as a good dessicant and should dry inside as much as possible

then you've just got to hope .... put it back together .... operate every key and switch to loosen any sugar

finally switch on ... fingers crossed

while you are drying it out ... you might also consider beating child ... and when the deed is done rub a little of the salt into ....
no too extreme

I hope you ground her though ... basic rule of computing is eithe don't put coffee near machine or make sure it can't be knocked over
here is how I do it ...
