OK wise guys. Just bought a HP laptop. 3 volume buttons, up...down...and mute. None of them do anything or am I being obtuse????

goto the hp webite and download and install the "hotkey" drivers

if you post the model can provide a link to them (I assume it's not new that you bought it?)

Do you have to press another key at the same time, such as a FN key?

got to say ... I think barry has the right angle

assuming that the buttons are sharing the f1-f12 keys

if separate ... then chuck
