if the 2nd driver has accident does it affect main driver no claims?

If the 2nd driver is obviously a named driver on your Insurance & there is a claim Yes, If no claim is made, No, To safe guard your NCB If money can afford, pay for whatever damage yourself, otherwise let your Insurance sort it out.
i was going to say the opposite,

i thought that it will not affect the main driver but may affect their ncb, but it will if they reinsure the car again, with the same person as a second driver, as they would have to inform the ins comp of any claims,
