Gems on the shopping channels
5 Answers
Whilst bored earlier, I flicked through some of the shopping channels and stopped at one that retails gems. I couldn't believe the tat these presenters were selling and at quite high prices too.
Do people really buy this jewellery at random and is it actually any good or of poor quality, as I suspect?

She's also bought some of the cheaper stuff which looks - well cheap.
Think if they have a lot to sell it is poorer quality if they only have a few then tends to be better. Saying that I wouldn't buy from there.

My boyfriend bought me a diamond ring off the tv shopping channel. He paid 400. When we recieved it it was dull and awful, I took it too a local jewellers and he told me the diamonds where the poorest quality. He sent it back and it got lost in the post (he didnt do recorded delivery!), so we never got a refund or a replacement.
That is bad news, Badnews. I thought the items did look a bit naff. They only ever state the type of metal and size of diamond, never the clarity or whiteness on the colour scale.
I think they probably lie when they say they only have 2 left and stocks are almost sold out, there will always be people who think they're getting a bargain.
