I met my hubby when we were doing an Engineering course together, at a local college. I guess it's a good way of meeting someone with similar interests.
Depends what you want. If you go to bars and clubs, you meet people who like going to bars and clubs! If you are looking for brain power try evening classes. They don't have to be dull - salsa dancing is a good one, or spanish/italian. If you are a girl, go to wood carving or car maintenance classes - full of blokes!
I met my husband by placing an advert in the personal column in our local paper.Of course I met a lot of strange, rude and married men wanting affairs first.
i met mine first of all on a train and bumped into her in the street a couple of weeks later completely by chance. 4 years later we're still together. let fate work its mysterious charms!
LynneMcF suggests wood carving classes to meet men. Be warned though: two female friends of mine went to a woodworking class with that aim but.... the class was full of other girls trying to do the same thing! If you are not really that keen on woodworking, and you don't want to waste money, it's probably best to check the boy/girl ratio first!
serious answer time - over 70% of people meet their partners at their place of work, so ther you have it another favourite and where i met my ex (that still hurts) was a friend's wedding lots of people about in that situation.
supermarket - fine viewing arena, and easy to break into conversation - i.e- excuse me I think this Ogen Melon fell out of your trolley.., 'you don't know which is the best olive oil do you - I'm such a useless SINGLE man etc...!'
