We tie fresh flowers to the lamppost where D. died in August 2007 every month. Tonight I've driven past and spotted that someone has torn all the heads off the bunch of white chrysanths we tied on there last week. Totally pointless and very upsetting. I know alot of people feel using a lamp post that killed someone as a memorial is somehow not their way of remembering the person. But to my son especially, it is an important responsibility he promised D.'s Mum he would carry on with. Sadly nothing much shocks us any more in thsi world does it? The local highways authority provide an offial marker on the post naming the deceased and as long as flowers are continually attached to the post they can always remain. I wonder what the person who destroyed the bunch of flowers was thinking? If anything.

sorry to hear that dot, not sure what goes through these numbskulls minds to be honest, I have seen thugs ruining floral displays and graves stones, it beggars belief.

so sorry about whats happened to your flowers, the ones who do that have not lost some one close to them ,may be one day they will might loose someone and they can feel the pain you have felt, but you know your loved one is only a though away take care. l

Its a terribly sad world when some idiot feels the need to destroy flowers left for a friend that has passed away.

What a lovely caring boy your son is for keeping his promise to continue the tribute to his friend.
