How do I work out what size square cake I need to cater for 30-45 slices. Is there a quick way of working it out

To find the radius:
2 x π x what? equals 120cm?
Roughly 19 centimetres in radius, which is 38cm in diameter.
And if you want 45 slices (not 30) but want 4cm thick slices (at their thickest part), you want a cake with a a circumference of 180cm, a radius of 29cm and a diameter of 58cm. That's a big cake! (Half it and get two :)
This is a good guide
