go through all your old junk, sell what you dont need (if it is sellable)
make your own sandwiches for lunch instead of buying them, fill an old water/pop bottle with you own pop from home instead of buying
write a shopping list, never do your shopping when you are hungy, stick to the list and if you need to buy extras like chocolate, buy the supermarkets own brand

Hey Stompe and all!
My nan is so adept at saving money, I daresay she's got a few old white fivers kicking around. A few months ago, when she'd run out of butter, and didn't feel inclined to walk over to the shops, she found half a tub of cream in the fridge and showed me how to churn butter in less than 10 minutes !!
