Tiny eggs on lawn

Something has laid dozens of tiny black eggs/lavae on my lawn any ideas what it is? thanks

Could it be something other than eggs/larvae? Have you, for example, had a visit from a flock of migrating birds who may have left a "trace" of their visit.I was involved with grass for many years but never came across anything like what you describe, which doesn't mean it's not real!! Maybe one of our lurking Botanists will throw a light on the situation.
