The only one I can't get my head around completely. I assume it's TAVER but I can't work out why. A colloquial Scots word?

Tavern minus N for name.
Taver is a Scottish word meaning shred or scrap.
Sorry, that doesn't really explain the first part of the clue.
That could be Ta + ver ( i.e. thank you + much of very )
