is baseball that stupid rounders game for men?

Oh dear Oh dear are you really expecting me to accept that you have never heard any of these "cliches"
Given that baseball is, effectively, played only in North America, it's almost a given that the language it will have affected most is American English. The game has no hold at all in any other English-speaking country of any great size.
As it is a much more universal sport, I'd hazard a guess that boxing has provided far more idioms - rather than clichs - than baseball has in these places and in America.
Well, I have to say that I've never heard of:
"Left in the bleachers"
"Grand slam homer"
"Step up to the plate"
"Warming up in the bullpen"

So, as QM says, baseball expressions may be common in the US, but not elsewhere.
I don't think such phrases are ever used in the UK. They're just not in our ballpark.
