I need to buy a new toaster and am befuddled by the choice. Do I buy a 4 Tesco cheapie, a hugely expensive Dualit or something in between?
I want one that toasts a large slice all over with no white bits and toasts quickly.

Tell me about your toaster. I am thinking of this one http://www.johnlewis.com/230208078/Product.asp x?source=14798

Definitely recommend a Dualit. Fab toast and really quick. They're very expensive but worth it in my opinion. I've had my 4 slice one for about 12 years and it's as good now as it was when new. If the element ever goes kaput you can buy replacements rather than a whole new toaster. If mine ever needs replacing though, it'll be another Dualit for me. I can recommend Dualit kettles too.
