Tried the Lanacane cream which works for several hours, been using it night and morning but not really actually curing the itch, as it comes back when the cream has worn off. It is soothing, and stops me frantically scratching but only supposed to use it for a week - its been about ten days now. Was going to change and try the E45 cream but just read about the itchy balls/anus problem(!) so not sure if it will be any better. Didn't realise how many of us there must be itching away like mad but the shelves in the chemist are full of the stuff.
Any more suggestions before the embarrassing trip to the doctors?

Tea tree and Sandalwood essential oils can be used neat on private parts with no adverse effects and are both highly antiseptic and soothing. Sandalwood burns but very pleasantly! A trip to the docs is an unfortunate must though as it could be something more serious.
hello lankeela. where exactly are these itchy bits? Have you tried over the counter anti histamines with a good rub or tiger balm?

hope this helps
Hi Lankeela, sounds like you need to go to doctors he will most likely give you a steroid cream for it. which will work. And if you can go without pants as much as possible, wear trousers or skirts to let the air circulate in other places, if you know what I mean. but it really is best not to wear close fitting underwear whenever you can. hope this helps. Brenda
Swallow your pride and go to the Drs.
What preceded your itching?
Lankeela. don't listen to condom, if you tried Tiger Balm, we'd hear your screams to here, and we'd have to get the Fire Brigade to get you off the roof.
Flea your dogs !!! (Joke)

No, best of luck !
Have you tried the Lanacane Talcum powder ?
It is very cooling and soothing for itchies and you can use it all the time unlike the cream which has a mild steroid in it .Not too near delicate bits though if you know what I mean .
Try using aqueous cream to wash the itchy parts with rather than soap or perfumed shower stuff etc . This will leave a protective barrier on your skin .
I know this sounds odd but I was told that pouring hot water on to porridge oats in a muslin bag (or pop socks) would help ease the soreness and itching you get with shingles. My shingles were greatly soothed by this. I thought I would try it on the itch I get in my groin area and it works for that too. Please dont use it too hot-just warm is ideal. Hopes this works for you and for those suffering as I am, with shingles. It's a bit messy but itching is worse!
