am of work long term sick, work have payed me upto now but have just told me they will not pay me anymore i thought there was a notice period they have to give you as to when they are going to stop pay.
Have only 7 days now to tell morgage company etc they will not get any money.
have you checked your contract/compnay handbook that will have the company sick policy in it and all we do it write to employees and tell them the date we stop paying sick pay.
Have you no mortgage payment protection insurance?
You may not be getting your salary from work but you will still be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay or Incapacity Benefit.
If you have no other income or savings you may be entitled to Council Tax Benefit and other means tested benefits.

No, your employer doesn't have to give you 'notice'. Somewhere in your documentation detailing your terms of employment it will say what the deal is on company sick pay (number of weeks paid).
What's probably happened is you are out of time.
They are not changing a term of your employment (which would require notice given) - merely invoking the existing terms!
as above really - the sick pay scheme will have rules which have been invoked. it seems really strange you have not in all this time you have been off sick thought to enquire to the sick pay arrangements, so really your work can't be blamed for the 7 day bt of it
You say "work have payed me upto now " - do you mean you are in receipt of SSP?
If you are no longer entitled to SSP then you may be entitled to a different benefit called support allowance (or something very similar)
Your employer must give you form SSP1 - if they don't they are not working in compliance with government rules on SSP
Whether you get SSP or not is not up to your employer but it is down to law
