Boring expressions

Never mind those irritating sayings - what about the really boring ones. Such as? My own unfavourites include 'personal fitness trainer' ... 'singer-songwriter' ... 'peace process' ... 'wepponzumazdistruckshun'. Any other offers?

I don't feel that these are actually 'clich�s' per se but bureaucratic jargon. Is there a label so I could search for some of thes demons? My current hate-favorite is 'a package of measures'

A few pet hates from the Civil Service : "I'll take that on board", "issues and concerns", "all sing from the same hymnsheet", "view the broader picture", "proactive management". I believe that the last one means "Finding an excuse/scapegoat before my boss knows there's a problem".

Paul, the woeful 'proactive' is the oposite of 'reactive' not 'inactive' but is still a pathetic word by anyone's standards.

thanks for Url Waldo. Proactive means the same as pre-emptive, in the sense of acting before the event. police can be proactive

Excellent office game for at least 4 players. Each write a selection of say six these so-called w**kwords on a piece of paper. Swap papers and during 'team meetings' (there's another one), cross off each one as it comes up. The first to cross them all off then loudly shouts 'Bingo' at the meeting. Giggles, funny looks all round - winner gets a pint off the others at lunchtime.
