Is it true that series 2 is going to be the last one of Ashes to Ashes? Any info would be great.TIA

I believe that Phillip Glenister wishes to move on - as actors usually do - and feels that the concept will have run its course after the second series.

Probably a good idea - who wants another 'Last Of The Summer Wine' - going on and on well past a time when it was even remotely entertaining - if indeed it ever was!

a third series is to be filmed in September and this will be the very last one.........................but never say never.
The last series will tie up all the loose ends to what has been going off and why Sam Tyler from LOM and Alex Drake from A2A has time travelled to bump into Gene Hunt.
There are rumours that Sam Tyler returns in the third series of A2A....??

Thank you both for your answers. I also enjoyed Life on Mars much beter than Ashes to Ashes and would love to see Sam Tyler(John Simm) return, but how would they tie it all in? think Sam was more believable than Alex. I was a bit confused with last nites episode I am sure it will be come clearer as the series goes on. Once again thank you both for your input.bestmum
