I get that many times through out the year and the only thing that hepls me is a home made cough syrup (grandmas recipe)

1. cut 2 or 3 carrotts in slices (dont peel the carrotts)
2. pop all of the slices in a bowl and cover the slightly with brown sugar....
3. put a cloth over and bowl and leave it over name by a window where it can catch moon light
4.in the morning it will have a sweet syrup, take a spoon or so when ever your cough attacks.

because there is no chemicals you can take it as many times as you need also if you can eat the slices of carrotts.

In 2/3 days you cough will be much better (take your antibiotics aswell)

And this really does help?
Have you been back to the doctor to check if you need a stronger antibiotic or if it could be viral so not shifting with antibiotics.

Make sure it's not progressed to anything like bronchitis.

I find propping myself up and keeping your airway straight helps and even breathing into something especially if it's a tickly cough.

I find Covonia to be the test medicine off the shelf and Weleda cough drops are good too (put drops in warm water and drink).

Have you tried any vics vapour rub or similar?

Ps

If the cough continues with wheeziness then get an asthma test.

I also have a problem with most cough medicines, something in most of them makes me cough more and I end up coughing it back up. Once I sussed that it solved a lot of problems :)

Hope you feel better soon, I know how horrible it is.
