Hi, my son is nearly 5 and is under the pediatrian at the hospital as he has signs of autisum. the last appointment we went to we were told it was just a speech and understanding problem. we are due for another visit next month and im hoping they can confirm what i suspect about my son. but my question is, where can i get help? the school have meetings and we are involved in that and he has speech therapy aswell, but what im saying is i find it hard to actually get him to play and i was hoping there is a special technique that they use on autistic kids to help them. my son just sits and babbles most of the time and even when i play with him, i feel hes not there with me,, his mind is somewhere else. so if next month it is confirmed he has autisum will i be able to get help in the area? and if they say nothings wrong with him, where does that leave me?

If they say there is nothing wrong then get a second opinion. You know better than anyone but obviously you're not qualified to diagnose.
Check this out, there is lots of advice and information on diagnosis and also how to play and behave with an autistic child.
