Car leasing in France

Hi there

My mum spends a few weeks at a time in Perpignan and wants to lease a car for her stay. She's been hiring from Europcar on arrival in Perpignan but their rates are expensive.

Does anyone know where she can arrange a car lease from the UK so she can pick it up in Perpignan?

having done the same many times, I've found the easiest way to get round this problem is to fly to Girona and hire from there - OK there's a time penalty, but not only is the car (and fuel) cheaper, usually the flight is too.

If you think about doing what mushroom suggests be careful you don't hire with companies who charge you for the full tank and you have to leave the car empty as no refund is made, some parts of the car aren't insured and also who charge you a daily fee for taking the car out of Spain. We thought we were getting a good deal until we got to Girona airport! it would have been cheaper with Hertz!

Thank you both, she's already booked her flight so that can't be changed. We were wondering about leasing rather than hiring - as in longer term contracts.
