Opinion on Vertical Blinds companies
I wan't to purchase a large vertical white blind for the back of my house. It consists of large window and door to go out on to the garden.
Has anybody purchased recently as I am not sure which company to go for.
Although some sites say free fitting, measuring etc how much do you estimate they add into the price.
Is it worth measuring yourself and then getting someone else to fit them or better to just order and get them fitted.
Just really would like opinions.

I went and priced the blinds in B&Q myself, but none of them were available in the sizes I needed. Although they could be cut to the correct size, it turned out B&Q were only 30 cheaper than Hilary Blinds, and to save the hassle of cutting the blinds, I was happy to pay the 30 extra for them to come in the correct size and installed for me.
It was a good service, quick delivery and installed just a few days after delivery.

I have these in my new flat and had them in my house .....always always get a quote from a local supplier.....and ask if the price quoted is the best price they can do. They will all include free fitting.
Believe me these firms are run on the same lines as the big window companys..never accept the first quote.
Ask what widths the slats come in too. IMO If these are too wide they look more like a shop window that a home.
I hope you find what your looking for.

One thing I wish somebody had told me before we had vertical blinds fitted over a wide patio window.
Check what widths the individual slats will be. If you have narrow slats you will need a lot more of them to cover the window when the blinds are closed. When they are drawn back and open they will block the light over a bigger space of window than wider ones will. If you have a very wide window this may not be an issue, but it's worth thinking about in case part of a view is blocked which you hadn't intended it to be.

If are not measuring/fitting the blind yourself, I would recommend having the same company who makes your blind fit them too. This is because if there is any discrepancy with the sizes then this can easily be resolved if they were measured for and made by the same company.
If you are not measuring and fitting the blind use a local company. They will be just as competitive on price as the larger companies and smaller companies can be quite often more flexible when it comes to fitting the blind.
Good luck!
