Hello EV N&C Wine Clubbers
My first reaction when looking at the grid was to think "impossible". But the clues were mainly gifts and using "copy", "cut" and "paste" as suggested in the superfluous "solving strategies" resolved the placing of all the answers.
Had to take a break, while herself attacked the GK on the reverse, but at least for those who send in solutions don't have the two grids clashing.
Hope there is no need for the dunces corner this week, rather it is a solvers celebration corner, as it fortunately
turned out to be last week. Hope it was all tidied up, with bottles and packaging recycled!
Ciao

Yes, should have said congratulations Copelander. Useful contribution to the garden party, too.
Thanks very much guys.......it's chilling for the garden party!

Have made some chilled vodka and gin martinis, laced with lime, shaken not stirred, hope they will go down well too! But have got to be home and ready for a meeting with my Relationship (aka Bank) Manager on thursday at 14.00!! I'm going to lend them some money rather than vice versa!
BTW, Talking Newspaper Federation is a good site too. Especially for Local Talking Newspapers
Copelander, I find champers tastes better when partaken from crystal glasses! Congrats and enjoy!!
What has happened to our Founder, Devadolly? i know she said she couldn't start until thursday week, but not even a peep from her. for ages Surely, baking is less important than being with us!!
Hello, (said in a very weary tone) I suppose I have missed the garden party, sob, boo hoo, sulk, sounded great. Had some lovely Morecambe Bay shrimps left on the doorstep last night that you would have enjoyed, especially as I have the original MB potted shrimp recipe from the early 19C.
Yes DocHH, I would much rather be sitting back and straining the brain on a substantial Xword but the bills have to be paid and filling the freezers of the 'Oh, I haven't got time to cook' brigade goes someway towards it (as well as educating them towards good quality food) even though I loath cooking. Final salary pensions don't exist in the self-employed camp. Our TB is very well established and I have occasionally did some work for them some time ago until 'other' things intervened, keep up the good work.
Copelander, you jammy devil! Many congratulations, just save me a drop if it hasn't all gone - very well done!
Hello everyone else.
Right, just to let you all know tghat I will be opening the EV tonight with the help of Ginger Mog as Himself is out and I am on strike, have to say that I am quite fearful as you have all seemed to have it done and dusted in 5 mins and I might be the only dunce this week!

Regards

HI Devadolly!

Glad you're back in the "land of the liEVing"!!
We can't hold a garden party without you and I reckon you will get to the bottom of this EV very quickly without feeling the urge to top yourself. Right, with that there's nothing left to say ---- apart from hope all EVers are well.

Devadolly, our garden party was very much a non-event without you, those MB prawns would have been a real party maker! I agree with Novalis, you will soon find you have all 4 of his heavy hints displayed in the perimter!
Thank you all! Yes, did manage to finish almost all the clues in double-quick time (Ginger Mog totally useless as HE wanted to lie on the paper not have me read it) then muddled about a bit and got two lots into grids, by now getting a bit cross until I read Novalis's excellent (as in can't be missed) hints as I espied two sets of three letters in their perimiters - aha, cracked it!
