apparently if you buy direct from guthey renker you have a money back guarentee, you can send empty pots back before the allotted time (30days i think) and they will refund except p&p. Be careful though when you do buy from them they will keep sending kits to you on a monthly basis and charge you for them unless you cancel.
Hope this helps?

Hi. I've tried mineral make up, not the one on the tv ads but other makes. It's the best make up i've ever used! I'm 47 and have really dry skin. Go to www.barefacedbeauty.co.uk. They do igrm samples for 1.75 (+p&p) so you can try them without breaking the bank.
Also try www.returnallhealth.co.uk. They do 25gm samples for 90p. This is the one i use. A pot which lasts for 3-4 months cost 12.50 They also do samples on ebay.
Try it. You'll love it, I'm sure

I started using the bare escentuals range in february and it was fantastic at first!
However, over the next few months my skin became itchy and irritable and I was covered in a rash - it was so intense my friends and family were asking me what was wrong with my skin. I
did some research and there's an ingredient present in most mineral make up called 'bismuth oxychloride'. It has the same chemical properties of arsenic and is a cheap filler that cosmetic companies use. As it is a metal by-product, it has a shiny quality which gives that 'youthful' sheen to the skin.
But as you 'buff'' this onto your skin, tiny particles of metal are pushed into your pores. Over 70% of women are allergic to this and some experience reactions immediately whereas others find problems after continual use (as in my case). Some women have had no problems at all, but i still find it worrying that metal is in my pores!
Since I have stopped using this my skin has improved 200% and I would never use it again. There are some brands of mineral make up out there that don't use this ingredient though, try pureminerals.co.uk
Hope this helps! :)

this is the best make up i have ever used and really does work, when i first used it i hated it but there is a skill, however, simple. you need to wait till your face cream or lotion is FULLY absorbed then as you dab whatever you want to conceal with the concealer and dip, shake off excess and using circular motion apply the sheer cover powder, it takes me all in all about 5 / 6 mins in the morning, it gets easier with experience. i am just about to restock on more, good luck
ps hope this helps, try it, got nothing to lose, keep all receipts and return it for full refund if not happy but i bet you wont....

Hi,
I have heard (or read) that the Sheer Cover by Guthy Renker is only a rip of of others, though I haven't tried it cos of the price!! I have tried the L'Oreal mineral make up and it is really good, however, I have purchased mineral make up from ebay and it is just as good, if not better! PLUS it is a fraction of the cost! Mineral make up is the way, but be careful that you buy wisely! As an after thought.....it costs $29.95 for Sheer Cover in the US but 29.95 for the same in the UK!!!! With the exchange rate rate, is it wise?

I was given Bare Escentuals by a friend as a gift. I felt the coverage it provided wasn't very good. I have some patches of slightly increased pigmentation from the sun ( nothing too extreme) and I didn't feel that it evened out my skin tone. In addition, after using it I developed a rash ( uncharacteristic for me as my skin is far from sensitive).
Not wanting to give up on mineral make up, having watched the Sheer Cover ad on the Celebrity shopping channel, I was convinced that this brand was everything the former was not. The transformation on screen to the likes of Melissa Gilbert was amazing! It arrived two days ago and I have to say that, as with Bare Escentuals, my skin feels irritated and the results are as unimpressive. It does not even out my complexion. Also, when you order it it comes with a DVD which contains footage of people being made up by the professionals. I have to say the results shown are nowhere near as impressive as those in the commercial. One lady has a sizeable spot which is still clearly visible after the application. The DVD also recommends that you buy additional products to supplement / compliment those in the starter kit - none of which are mentioned in the commercial.
I shall be returning mine but sadly I will end up paying the postage both ways - 5.95 to receive it and whatever the cost of registered post is to return it ( They insist upon this!) My advice would be don't be tempted! Nivea tinted moisturiser provides better coverage!

I find the Laura Geller mineral make up to be excellent - I beleive it's mineral based and, so far, I've had no skin problems. I use the 'baked cakes'.
Having said that, they came as part of a QVC TSV and the foundation was a little too dark, so I've ordered some Sheer Cover - I think it's going straight back!

I've tried the new sheer cover make up. It's really good and works all the time.I put it on in mornings and it stays on all day.It has no affect to my skin, and i have really dry skin so most make up just shows up my dry patches. I recommed it to anyone who is thinking about getting it. I would'nt live without it now :-)
I've tried Sheer Cover and Bare Minerals. Bare Minerals by far is the better makeup. Sheer Cover is not only minerals. The cover up is creame based and when the mineral powder is applied, it sometimes cakes for me.
Sheer Cover is least expensive when trying their starter unit, but it only lasts for 30 days. On the other hand, Bare Minerals costs more for their starter unit, but the sizes of the makeup are the same that is sent when next ordered.
By the way, Bare Minerals lasts a long time. When they send a 60 day supply, it lasts for at least 6 months. Applied every day. This is true for my 3 daughters, and 1 granddaughter. I ordered it first, and when the next supply came gave it to my daughter, then to the next one etc.
For me, wearing it when I go out which is rare and on those special occations, I use one supply per year. That's the reason all 5 of us can use one order:)

I have tried Sheer cover, and yes it does work. It is very easy to use, you just moisturise, then put on the concealer, and then the make up. I would recommend this product because I lots of freckles and sometimes those awful lines around my eyes, I also blemishes from part monthly sopts. Then concealer covers virtually all of it, with the mineral on top I feel renewed. It is very good value for money and by investing in Sheer cover I actually spend less on cosmetics because it is a kit rather than just one product. You skin does not feel caked up like other make, even powder. You should try this.
