Let all your friends know.
This is so they will tell their friends and
a) someone does not accidentally put their foot in it by asking so how are you and (insert girls name) getting on?
b) they may know of someone single who may be looking for a new relationship should all your current attempts at re-kindling the fire turn sour.
Pop around her house after the first week for ten minutes maximum,
telling them that you were just passing and thought youd stop by
Maybe wait 2-3 weeks and on the next visit spend about an hour chatting before heading home.
Take up a hobby/clean your room(s)
Start shaving again if you have stopped and keep your personal hygiene in tip top form.
Try and go out more to take your mind off things that are making you feel depressed.
Re-consider in a months time what exactly she means to you and if she is worth trying to get back together.
Dont
Get down on one knee and propose marriage the last thing they want is commitment at a time like this.
Play your song over and over whilst lying in your room as you dream of times that once were great.
Let them see that you have spent three weeks wallowing in your own self pity.
They want to know that you are a strong person even though you have had time apart and they have been putting your emotions in a blender.
Lie to her and tell her that you are over her and you are already going out on the pull.
Become her stalker.
Phone her for a long conversation.
Leave a cardboard box (her stuff she left at your house) labeled B*tch outside her house.
Radically change your appearance by bleaching your hair blonde.
Sleep with every girl in town just because you want to make her jealous.
Try to hit on her best mate.
Cockney_si, perhaps a little too much detail. Speaking from experience? ;-)
I think the best points from above (they're all fab) are:
Keep shaving/ brushing your teeth/ general keeping yourself clean. Is she really going to want to snog and make up with half an inch of bristle on your chin and kebab stuck in your teeth?
Show her you are strong without her, but don't sleep with anything with a pulse in order to 'prove' that you are over her.
if they lived together he should change the layout of the furniture to make it a new looking place. just rearranging furniture makes it feel different.
no-one can really help him though as its just time needed to heal. Distance themselves from that person so not to keep the wound open so to speak.
be a supportive mate (as you are being already) and keep them occupied.
When you've been going out with someone then you get used to be attached and stop acting like you're still single. You generally stop 'looking', you don't see you're friends as much, you watch you're money because you have birthdays/anniversaries etc etc. So i think you're mate just needs to start thinking and acting like he's single again.Get him back on his feet by getting him out and about. Encourage him but dont rush him into anything! Being with someone is great but being single is a hell of a lot of fun. Maybe you just need to remind him! :O)
Getting over women. How about a poll volt or simply stepping over them if they are laying down.
Leap frogging is another option.
But seriously there is no simple answer. Different things for different people, but time is a great healer. Stick by him and just be the sholder to cry on. Take him out to get his mind off it.Sitting thinking up ways of taking revenge just eats you up in the end and he'll never move on.
Sorry I can't think of any thing else.

I've have always thought (through experience) that men find it more difficult to get over someone than women do. I think it's because when women break up with someone they tell anyone who will listen, cry, wail, shout, etc etc and ten they tell anyone who will listen again. Men don't tend to do that. they tend to let it fester and grow and twist inside them. so my advice is; be a little self indulgent. Talk to peopl. I know it's hard to do that but it's the only way to get over something and find clarity. H x
