The clue is:- Is out of date, note. No idea how many letters. Thought it might be ISOLDE but, as far as I know, she's not a character from Shakespeare. Can anyone help?.

I would say that 'Isolde' is the correct answer.
The following website maintains that 'Tristan and Isolde' was the inspiration for Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet.'

Cant see this setter making a mistake and Isolde certainly isnt a Shakespeare character
