When a mole burrows, where does it dispose of the loose soil, besides the bit that form the mounds --- the amount of loose soil is always more than when it is compacted, so how can the animal move back along its burrow --- or doesn't it?

So I reckon the mound is the earth dug out of the tunnel.. and you would have to work hard to compact it all back..
We laid turf a while back then got moles and when I lifted the turf you could see his tunnels all over the place!! Little ******!!!!
