Comfort yourself with the fact that you're doing the right thing for your doggie, for if you didn't love her to bits, you'd simply ignore her problem. But you're not ignoring it and if she could talk she'd tell you exactly that!
Best of luck. Thinking of you both. Looking forward to good news.

hI curvybird,
Know exactly how you must be feeling, was in a similar position to you a few months ago .
Had to leave my pet for an op for lumps.
Wept buckets as I left her , couldn't think straight and so on.
Had posted on here about the problem before we went to the vet.
Got so much support and love from the wonderful people who responded. That with all their good wishes kept me going and focussing on positive things.
We are all here for you as well, so keep in touch , let's know what is happening.
I know I can speak for all animal lovers on this site when I say that we will all be thinking of you and your pet today ,and we will have everything crossed for the best outcome possible.
Sincere good thoughts and wishes to you both.x

I've got something very optimistic for you I hope. My elderly mongrel bitch started scratching and losing clumps of her hair last year, despite being flea free so I took her to the vet and she said she thought the hair loss was hormonal and found what she described as a 'huge' mass and suggested immediate surgery. They removed a massive tumour which took up most of her mammary tract and despite being warned that it could recour very quickly, she is, touch wood, so far perfectly okay and it's a good 15 months on, so be hopeful, i'm sure they'll do the very best they can and I hope everything works out fine.
